Nagori Ashwagandha is a very ancient Vedic era strain or variety of Ashwagandha which was supposedly extinct or had become very rare. This variety of Ashwagandha is mentioned in ancient Indian ayurvedic texts and has been well researched to be the most supreme and potent variety of Ashwagandha known to mankind. Originally, this strain was only found in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan. Due to its high potency, it is the most demanded ingredient in many ayurvedic formulations. But for a long time, this variety was known to be extinct and forgotten. This variety grows largely in the dry and arid regions of Western and Central Rajasthan making it very difficult to source this herb. In the past few years, due to the efforts of some Nomadic Tribes of Rajasthan this variety is being brought back from extinction.
