Pu Huang, Cattail (Typha Angustifolia) is widespread in the warm and temperate regions of Eurasia and North America. The rhizome is branched creeping, up to 3 and more cm in diameter and up to 1.5 m long. The stem is usually up to 1.8 m tall, but sometimes reaches 4-4.5 m. Inflorescence is a capitate long-cylindrical cob, consists of two parts. Apical part is staminate; pestal part is velvety thickened dark brown in color. Two-rowed leaves locate in the lower third of the stem; Fruiting period is in July - August.
