Each bag contains 4 oz of organic or wildcrafted maca root powder, grown and harvested in Peru. It is Lepidium meyenii, known in Spanish as maca peruana or maca en polvo. One ingredient, no fillers and nothing added. TASTE: nutty and malty. It is a distinctive flavour, which is why most people blend it rather than drink it neat. HOW TO USE IT: add 1 teaspoon of maca root powder to a smoothie, juice or food. To prepare as an herbal shot, mix 1 teaspoon into 4 fl oz of boiling water, mix well, cover and steep for 2 to 3 minutes, then enjoy. Stir again before drinking, because the powder settles. Store tightly closed in a dry place at room temperature, 59 to 86 degrees F. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS DOES THIS CONTAIN GELATIN? No. One ingredient, maca root powder. The word "gelatinized" on some maca powders has nothing to do with gelatine; it is a heat process that breaks down the starch in the root. Ours is raw milled root, not gelatinized. IS THIS AN EXTRACT? No. It is the whole dried root, milled, not concentrated and not standardized. RED, BLACK OR YELLOW MACA? Not colour separated. If you want a single colour, buy from a supplier who separates them. WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE? Nutty and malty with an earthy edge. Bold on its own, and it mellows in a smoothie with banana, cacao or cinnamon. POWDER OR CAPSULES? The powder costs less per gram and mixes into food and drink, but you taste it.
