Each bag contains 4 oz of organic or wildcrafted eyebright herb powder, finely milled, harvested in Europe. The plant is Euphrasia officinalis, known in Spanish as eufrasia. One ingredient, nothing added. WHERE THE NAME COMES FROM: eyebright is a small semi parasitic wildflower of European meadows and grassland, with white and purple flowers marked with a yellow spot and fine dark lines. Early herbalists thought those markings resembled a bloodshot eye, and that resemblance is where the English name comes from. It is sometimes written as two words, eye bright. AS AN HERBAL SHOT: stir 1 to 2 teaspoons into 4 fl oz of boiling water, mix well, cover and let it stand 3 to 5 minutes, then drink. There is no strainer and nothing to throw away, because the herb has already been milled. Stir it again before drinking, as powder settles. ALSO PREPARED AS A TINCTURE, which is on the label, and the powder form is what makes that straightforward. TASTE: green and slightly bitter, with a dry, grassy finish.
