Atractylodes macrocephala (scientific name: Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz.): Atractylodes macrocephala perennial herb, up to 60 cm high, nodular rhizomes. Stems erect, all smooth and glabrous. The leaves are alternate, the leaves are pinnately divided, the lateral lobes are oblanceolate, elliptic or oblong, the top lobes are larger than the lateral lobes, all the leaves are thin, papery, green on both sides, glabrous, and the head inflorescence is a single stem. Branch tips, bracts green, pinnately split. Involucral broad campanulate, apex purple. Achenes are conical, bloom and bear fruit in August-October.
