Each bag contains 4 oz of organic or wildcrafted hydrangea root powder, milled fine, from the USA. The plant is Hydrangea arborescens, the wild North American smooth hydrangea, known as raiz de hortensia in Spanish. One ingredient, nothing added. WHAT IT IS AND WHAT IT IS NOT: this is the root of Hydrangea arborescens, which grows through the eastern United States. It is not the ornamental hydrangea from a garden center, and it is not made from garden hydrangea flowers. Only the root is used. HOW TO PREPARE IT: stir 1 to 2 teaspoons into 4 fl oz of boiling water, mix well, cover and let it stand 2 to 3 minutes, then drink. There is no strainer and nothing to throw away, because the root has already been milled. Stir it again before drinking, since powder settles. TASTE: earthy and woody with a dry, slightly bitter finish. It is taken as a small shot rather than sipped by the mug. Store tightly closed in a dry place, 59 to 86 degrees F.
